One does not require a premium Spotify subscription for listening to their Spotify playlists via Bose, Alexa or Sonos speakers. Previous week, the music streaming service announced that the Free users now could listen to their playlists finally on Sonos speakers. And now, this week, Spotify announced that it is extending that feature to Bose and Alexa speakers as well.
For the very first time, the Spotify Free users across Australia, New Zealand and the US will have the facility of playing Discover Weekly, Today’s top hits or their custom playlists via Amazon Fire TV and Echo devices. Or else, the Free users could also stream via their Bose ‘Home Speaker 500,’ ‘Home Speaker 450,’ ‘Home Speaker 300,’ ‘Soundbar’ 500 or 700 and ‘Portable Home Speaker.’
As Spotify announced previous week, the Free users now can also stream the service via any Sonos speakers. This includes Sonos Home Sound System SYMFONISK IKEA and Sonos Move.
In order to begin, you will need to update your speaker to the Spotify latest version. Next, when you open the Spotify application, choose the device that you wish to stream music to.
Notably, the introduction of free streaming on Bose, Sonos and Alexa speakers will be more appealing to millions of Spotify Free subscribers, especially with the holiday season approaching.
