The self-revive feature in the game was essentially put into use with help of a gold knockdown shield. With the help of this feature, you could make your way back into the battlefield again after knockdown provided you have the golden knockdown shield. However, now that this mechanic is no longer available in the game, players will be completely on their own if they engage in combats where they are at a disadvantage. The Golden knockdown shield is acquired through loot and players could revive themselves using this, for a single time. After that, the ability would exhaust.
Although the developers removed this mechanic from the game, they also have other plans to balance it out. Developers are replacing the self-revive feature of the Golden Knockdown Shield with a perk in the game. This feature is none other than the Guardian Angel perk. This will allow players to get revived with 50 extra health and 50 extra shield when downed. Thus, the removal of the self-revive was not totally in vain.
