Steam Deck Audio Issues: How to fix them?
Try different Proton versions
The first thing that you need to do is force a different version of Proton on the game that you are having issues with. In order to do this, you will have to close the game first. After that, go to the Steam page of the game. Here, you will see a gear icon that is for settings. Select the gear icon and go to the properties of the game. Now, you will have to go to the “Compatibility” tab. In the compatibility option, check the “Force the use of a specific Steam Play Compatibility load” option. Under this option, you will see a “Proton Experimental” feature. From here, you will have to do a hit-and-trial method of Proton versions. For example, you will have to hit the first version of Proton and see if the game works with it in perfect audio conditions. If it doesn’t, move to the next version of Proton and repeat the same process with it. Keep repeating this until you find a version that has no audio problems.
Update Steam Deck
The second thing that you need to do is update your Deck to its latest version. For this, you can switch to Desktop Mode and it will automatically inform you if any update is pending for your device. Once you see a pending update, download and install it. After that, return to the gaming mode.
Check Audio
The third thing that might work for you is to make sure where your device is outsourcing the audio. For example, if you have a Bluetooth audio device, make sure that the connection is done right and that the Steam Deck is providing audio to the correct output device. Also, make sure that the audio of your device is in the audible range.
By following these steps, you will be able to get over any kind of audio issues that might be happening on your Deck. Anyways, do not forget to visit Androidgram for the latest updates in the world of tech and gaming.
