Le Mans Ultimate is a racing game from the developers at Studio 397. It is an excellent simulation racing game and a great point to get into the serious sim racing genre. Unlike other games, it is widely available across consoles and also works very well with additional accessories like FFB (force feedback) wheels for these platforms. Le Mans Ultimate, however, has an issue where the FFB for these add-on wheels has been reported to not work properly.
FFB is an excellent addition to modern racing games. Why? Well, because it simulates actual driving. Through the pedals and the wheel itself, you can immerse yourself in the game and it gives you an understanding of how the car handles or how the road feels. They are also a little dangerous and they can really hurt you if you do not use them carefully. Since their feedback is realistic, you have to be aware of how you play the game with this feature enabled. Anyway, if you have enabled force feedback in Le Mans Ultimate but the feature is not working as expected, consider reading until the end.
Le Mans Ultimate Force Feedback not working on many wheels: Is there any fix yet?
A wheelbase consists of a wheel mounted to the shaft and the pedals mounted to the base. This is a very typical setup but it allows you a lot of customization with regard to the type of FFB you want to use. Since this issue is with most wheelbases, we are not going to be recommending customized configurations for each brand. What we are going to do is take a look at some of the solutions people using different wheelbases have suggested, which may work for you as well. Do note that the developers are indeed aware of this issue, so a fix will most likely be released soon. In the meantime, try these workarounds:
1). Restart the Game
Restarting the game usually works as an excellent first step to resolve such issues. It can be an issue with the game not recognizing the FFB base or with the FFB base not being compatible with the game. In any case, a simple restart will help a lot if it is a small software issue.
2). Reinstall Drivers
If this does not work, you will want to reinstall the drivers for your wheel. For this, navigate to the manufacturer’s website, look for your model, and install the latest driver for it. Once installed, restart the system and the game. Now, check if the issue persists.
3). Start with Base off
One user recommended that you start the game with the FFB base turned off. You can then use the in-game menu to enable it and play with FFB enabled, that way. This is also an easy method that is worth a try.
4). Deadzone
Players are also experiencing a dead zone with FFB. Since steering angles are a thing, the FFB will only work when your wheel is rotated over a certain degree range. The game auto-converts this to match the settings of the car but you can experience this issue when these settings are not converted correctly. To rectify this, try recalibrating your wheel with the game and your installed software.
5). Invert FFB Profile
The developers have made it known that while they work on the game and solve the issues, you can try setting the Inverted FFB profile for the following default controllers:
- Simucube 2 Pro
- Simucube 2 Sport
- Simucube 2 Ultimate
- SimXperience Accuforce
- VRS DirectForce Pro
- Sim Steering
These are the workarounds worth trying to fix the FFB not working issues in Le Mans Ultimate. If you found this guide informative and would like to read more such content, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
