Multiplayer games are the new norm in today’s era of gaming, and why won’t they be? Allowing players to enter a lobby together and play against other players or doing some in-game activities together is what seems appealing to many. Similarly, Farming Simulator 25, although being purely farm-sim, offers a multiplayer mode where players can join lobbies and enjoy farm life together. Now, when it comes to co-op multiplayer, voice chat is a must for communicating. However, recent reports have surfaced regarding the in-game voice chat feature not working at all. If you too are encountering a similar issue, this is just the guide you need. Here, we have shared all the workarounds to help you fix the issue for good.
In Farming Simulator 25, you can either host a multiplayer player lobby or join one. If you host one, you will have control over all the aspects of the server and can make changes wherever necessary. But if you have joined a server, you will be abiding by the rules set by the host. Pretty straightforward, isn’t it? That said, regardless of whether you are joining a server or hosting one, the voice chat issue can occur. You might be able to listen to what others are saying; however, your voice will not be audible. So, how to fix it? We have some effective workarounds worth trying.

Farming Simulator 25 (FS25) Voice Chat Not Working Issue: Is there any fix yet
As of now, this issue hasn’t been acknowledged by the developers, which is why an official fix is out of the question. However, the workarounds shared below will be of help. So, try them out.
Restart
Before any complex workarounds, let’s start with some basic ones. First, after encountering the voice chat issue, simply close the game and then launch it again to check whether the same issue persists. If yes, consider restarting your PC, as some applications running in the background might be the reason why this issue is occurring.
Run as Admin
Sometimes, due to permission-related issues, the game’s voice chat feature doesn’t work. To rule out this possibility in this case, consider running FS 25 with admin privileges. How? Just right-click on the game’s .exe and select the Run as Administrator option.
Disable/Uninstall third-party programs
The voice chat not working issue can also be caused by certain third-party applications running in the background. One player did mention that the Occulus Software was the reason why they faced the issue in the first place, and uninstalling the application fixed the issue for them. So, check for such applications installed on your PC, and then either disable them before running the game or uninstall them to check whether the issue is fixed.
Microphone access
It is also possible that your system’s microphone permissions are disabled for FS 25 which is why it is unable to detect your voice. To check this out, go to the Windows Settings menu in the game, select the Privacy & Security option, and then expand the Microphone option. Now, scroll down until you find FS 25, and then check whether access to the microphone is enabled. If not, then turn it on and then launch the game. Doing so should fix the issue.
Voice Chat Settings
Launch FS 25, and then go to the Settings menu. Now, select the General Settings tab, and then scroll down until you find the Sound section. Here, ensure that the Voice Chat Volume is set in the range of 50-100%, the Voice Recording Volume is set to 100%, and the Voice Input Mode is set as Always On. Once done, save the changes and then launch the game to check if the issue persists.
Select Correct Input Device
If you have multiple peripherals connected to your system, especially a headphone with a microphone and a separate microphone itself, then it is necessary to select the correct input device for your system to use for voice input in games. You can find these settings in the Windows Settings menu. So, go to Start, and then search for Settings. Select the first result, then System, and then select the Sound option. Now, under the Input section, ensure that the correct device is selected. Also, set the Volume option to 100.
Use a different input device
If you have a spare microphone or headphones, connect it to your PC and then use the same for voice chat in the game. If the feature works now, then the issue is related to the previously connected device, and not the game or your PC.
Disable Additional Effects
You need to make sure to disable any additional effects applied to the connected microphone. For this workaround, open the same Sound option in the System tab. Now, scroll down and select the All Audio Device option. Here, select the primary microphone and then disable the Audio Enhancements option. Now, select the Test Microphone option to verify whether it is detecting input. If yes, then, launch the game and check whether voice chat works now.
Verify Integrity of Game Files
Yet another basic yet effective workaround for this issue is to verify the integrity of game files. To do this, simply launch Steam and then go to Library. Now, right-click on FS 25, and then select Properties. After this, select the Installed Files tab, and then the Verify Integrity of Game Files option. Once the scan is complete, launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
Uninstall
If none of the workarounds have been of any help, consider uninstalling the game. This is the only workaround left to try so give it a shot. After a fresh installation, launch the game to check whether the same issue persists.
With that said, we hope that you are able to fix the voice chat not working issue in Farming Simulator 25 after trying the given workarounds. If you find this guide informative, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting content on all things gaming.
