With the latest release of Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software’s critically acclaimed game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the PC platform, many players have given it a try. As of now, the game’s reception on Steam itself is quite mixed with over 5000 reviews. Some are appreciating that the game’s graphics are top-notch, while most players have raised their concerns regarding the lack of optimizations. Anyway, since you are reading this, you might be wondering whether this game is playable on handhelds like the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go. If yes, this is just the article you need.
If you take one look at the game’s system requirements section on Steam, it won’t take much time for you to notice that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a fairly demanding game, on both the CPU and GPU. But it isn’t something that handhelds like the Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go can’t handle. So, what’s the status of compatibility with these devices? More details are shared below.

Steam Deck
Surprisingly, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 hasn’t been listed as a Deck-Verified title nor listed as Playable. Although the previous title in the series was Deck-Verified, the sequel seems not to have received the same status. And this is for good reason. While you can technically play the game on the Steam Deck, there are tons of compromises. First, it is the visuals. You can’t run Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with a decent graphics settings preset to get playable FPS out of it on the Deck. You will need to set everything at low with Upscaling On along with Frame Generation. Only then will you be able to get decent FPS to enjoy the game. But even then, there are issues. The primary issue is the input lag that comes bundled with Frame Generation. Due to this, game mechanics involving dodges will be harder to hit. Even cutscenes can be laggy. Next is the horrendous FPS drop that occurs randomly. But if you are fine with all these compromises, then feel free to try the game out. However, we recommend that you don’t.
Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go
While the Steam Deck can barely run the game, when it comes to the Rog Ally and Legion Go, things are a bit better. Since these handhelds have better hardware, they can run the game at slightly better FPS. With the right settings applied, you should get close to 40-45 FPS. But then again, don’t think that you can crank up the visuals. That stays low even on these handhelds if you want better FPS in the game.
With that said, now you know all about the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go support details of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We hope that you find this article informative. If you did, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting content on all things gaming.
