While the PS5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is well-optimized and looks gorgeous, we can’t say the same for the recently released PC version. Although graphics-wise, it is still one of the best, it lacks the optimizations that most modern games need in today’s time. Due to this, there are many bugs in the game and one such bug is the textures bug where the in-game world just renders weird textures for characters or objects instead of the right ones. So, if you too are encountering the same issue, this is just the guide you need to get rid of the problem.
There are many player reports highlighting the game’s inability to render the right textures of the world. Some complained about NPCs being rendered completely black when taken down, while for some, there’s a lot of artifacting going on. In both cases, you will feel the lack of quality checks that should have been done before the game’s release. Anyway, in this guide, we have shared a few workarounds that you can try.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Textures Bug: Is there any fix yet
While there isn’t an official acknowledgment of this exact bug in the game, there have been a series of hotfix updates released for the game after its debut on the PC platform. It goes to show that the developers are indeed factoring in the player feedback and are releasing updates efficiently. So, while awaiting a fix for this issue, we suggest that you try the shared workarounds:
Update GPU drivers
Outdated GPU drivers are one of the most common reasons why graphics-related bugs occur in a game. So, make sure that your system’s GPU drivers are updated to their latest version. Once done, launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
In-game Settings (Ray Tracing Ambient Occlusion)
Players who have been affected by this issue have shared that tinkering with the game’s Ambient Occlusion setting fixed the issue for them. So, head over to the game’s settings menu and go to the Graphics tab. Here, find the Ray Tracing Ambient Occlusion setting and make sure it is disabled. Next, select the Raytracing object Range option and set the range to 9. This will help with the shadow flickering issue. Once done, save the changes and restart the game.
Install game on SSD
Make sure that you have installed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on an SSD, as they are significantly faster than HDDs. This helps in faster load times and can even impact the game’s performance on your system.
For now, these are the workarounds you can try to fix the textures bug in the game. We are quite confident that the developers will soon release a patch fix for this bug as well. So, until then, stay tuned to Android Gram for more such interesting reads on all things gaming.
