Monster Hunter Wilds is an online co-op action RPG where monsters and humans live on the same land. The game features a rich story and some pretty intense combat mechanics, along with engaging gameplay that made it one of the best releases of 2025. Well, if you have been playing Monster Hunter Wilds on your PC and are reading this guide, it is obvious that you are fed up with the input lag in the game. And that’s not an isolated issue. A ton of players have reported the same. So, in this guide, we have shared all you need to know about why this issue occurs in the first place.

You do know about Frame Generation, right? It is the latest tech used by GPUs that enables games to run at much higher FPS than a PC can actually push. How? Without going much into the technicalities, Frame Generation is basically adding a frame in between two frames to make the gameplay smoother. Your GPU does the work of getting information from 2 adjacent frames and then adding a frame in between them. This involves a complex process, and due to this, you will almost every time see frames that are at least one frame delayed when compared to real time. While this technology is revolutionary, it has its drawbacks. And that it is, input lag.

The input lag issue in Monster Hunter Wilds is primarily due to the Frame Generation option being turned on. If your PC isn’t capable enough to run the game at a decent FPS without frame generation, then enabling this feature will result in severe input lag. To get rid of this, all you need to do is head over to the game’s Settings menu, and in the Graphics settings, find the Frame Generation option under Upscaling. Make sure to turn it off. After this, head over to the Display settings menu and disable VSync and enable Nvidia Reflex Low Latency Mode. Once done, save the changes and then check whether the input lag persists. Most likely, it will not.

However, if you are experiencing input lag while playing the game with a controller, consider switching the connection mode. If you are using a wired connection, switch to Bluetooth and vice versa.

That said, this is all we know about the input lag issue in Monster Hunter Wilds and how to fix it. We hope that you find this guide informative. If you did, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting daily reads.
