The Precinct will make you immersed in the 1983 era of Averno City. Featuring tons of cop-life thrills, the game has seen a decent reception after its initial launch on May 13, 2025. While most are enjoying the game, there are a handful of players encountering various bugs and issues. Some are experiencing weird red pixels while playing the game, while for some, the screen just shakes abysmally, rendering their playthrough a headache inducer. That said, if you too have encountered screen shaking while playing The Precinct, this is just the guide you need. Here’s everything you need to know about fixing the screen shaking or jittery screen issues in The Precinct.
As per player reports, the screen shaking in The Precinct mainly occurs during nighttime in the game and this gets worse when they are driving a car or just walking. Some even reported that the screen shakes persist all the time in-game. Of course this is a serious issue that needs the immediate attention of developers. But have the developers acknowledged or noticed this issue yet? Well, there is good news.

Fortunately, developer Maddie @ Kwalee responded to a Steam discussion post from a player stating the same issue with the following:
Thanks for flagging this and we’re really sorry to hear you’ve encountered this issue!
I’ve flagged this bug now for our QA team and the dev team to investigate.
So, from this, it seems clear that the developers are aware of this issue and are potentially investigating it. However, there is no timeline given as to when an official fix will be released. So, while waiting, try the workarounds shared below:
Turn Off VSync
If the VSync setting in-game is turned on, then this might be the reason why the screen shaking is so predominant in-game. So, head over to the in-game settings menu by selecting the Options button, and then in the Graphics tab, find the FPS Cap option. If it’s set to VSync, make sure to change it to Off and then check whether the issue persists. Also, if VSync was not already selected, consider enabling it and then verify whether enabling this setting fixed the issue.
Limit FPS
In the same FPS cap option, consider putting an FPS cap of 60/120/144 Hz based on your system specifications and monitor’s refresh rate. Setting an FPS cap has fixed the issue for a player so it might be an effective workaround. Make sure to try it out.
Disable Camera Shake Setting
You have to make sure that the Camera Shake feature in The Precinct is disabled. To do this, go to the Options menu and select the Game tab. Inside this tab, you will find the Camera Shake option. Toggle this setting off and then check if the screen shaking continues.
For now, these are the workarounds we recommend you try. If you find this guide informative, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting reads on all things gaming.
