Adopt Me is an entertaining game. An exciting game like this attracts many fans, and hence, Adopt Me has a vast community. Unfortunately, the game also attracts fraudsters who manipulate potential victims for their gain. Adopt Me has a rigid policy for fraudsters: if proof is found against a player, they will be banned with a message and code. We have listed the types of fraud that can happen with you as an Adopt Me.
Types of Adopt Me frauds
1. Private Links/Invites
Fraudsters may contact you on private messaging platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, or Discord, promising you rewards or saying you have won a prize on Adopt Me. They might also express interest in trading with you. To do so, they will ask you to join private messaging servers or send you links. Those may look legitimate, but they aren’t. Most of those links have turned out to be fake and a way to get their hands on your personal account information.
There is only one way to add players on Adopt Me: visiting Roblox and searching usernames. The actual website of Roblox will always have an ‘https://‘ before it and will have a secure “lock” symbol on your browser that confirms it is secure. Always check spellings of words like Roblox in the links sent to you.
2. Trust Trades
Suppose you trust a player who promises you to trade his pet with yours. And, you send him your pet without asking anything in return. The player is supposed to give you something without asking anything in return. Instead of appropriate behavior, the fraud will log out of his account, keeping your pet, and won’t send you what he promised to send. This is also a common fraud some players have fallen prey to. Don’t trust anyone who wants to do a trust trade process as almost every time, it is a scam. You will never get your pet back. Once gone, the user cannot retrieve it.
3. Trading for Robux/other game items
So, some player has contacted you requesting you to trade your pets for Robux or other game items. Let us tell you that trading for Robux or other game items is considered undesirable by Adopt Me and can get you banned from the game. In situations like this, you will likely be scammed as you will have to trade in your pet first. The fraud can easily log out and never give you what he promised.
If anyone tries to contact you for Robux trading, you should report him immediately as this violates Adopt Me rules.
4. Giveaways
Adopt Me hosts loads of them on their official social media and discord if you are a giveaway lover. Visit the official channels to look out for giveaways rather than going for fraudsters.
Adopt Me officials suggest not to participate in unofficial giveaways unless there’s some verification. It would be best if you never give your passwords to anyone.
