While this is true, you are not the only hunter in the forests of Pandora. The RDA, who is also the main antagonist of the story, also hunts for animals in-game.
While your methods are humane and offer little to no suffering for the animal, their methods are often brutal and involve trapping the animal. This is directly opposed to the typical Na’vi way of life, where the suffering of animals is minimized. Luckily, the game does allow you to free them from traps and let them wander the land for free.
How to free them?
Since the game does not tell you how to free them, it is going to take some figuring out. If you look closely at the trap or cage, you will notice that there are usually red panels in the front (usually under the animal’s head). You have to damage these panels to free them. You might want to look around before you do this, however, since there are usually RDA footsoldiers patrolling those grounds. This is a great addition to the game since it allows you to not only free animals but also make quick work of the soldiers, whom you can loot for equipment.
What rewards will you get?
For freeing animals, your only reward is satisfaction. The game does not reward you in any way when you free them. Depending on the animal, it might help you fight the soldiers around it or run for its life. The only rewards you get are the loot if you can salvage any or the satisfaction of completely destroying a hunting party of humans in Pandora.
