There are many important aspects of gaming. The quality of the content and the visual experience are obvious, but there is a more interactive but less noticeable part of the experience that leaves a lasting impact. We are talking, of course, about audio. You will likely agree that it is no fun watching a movie or a show without sound. You can understand the dialogues if you have supported subtitles, but other than that, there is no life in the experience. The same is true for games. Well, if you enjoy playing Bigscreen VR and have faced issues related to no audio in-game, you most likely know the impact of audio in games. Well, the game has a recurring audio issue where players sometimes cannot hear the in-game audio or the audio from a movie playing via remote desktop. So, is there a fix for this? Continue reading to find out.
The Bigscreen VR community is currently left without an actual solution to this problem. The fixes available are partial at best and require significant setup and computer knowledge. In order to simplify this process, we have shared the effective workarounds that can fix the issue for good and explained them in detail. So, without further ado, let’s get right into it.
Bigscreen VR no audio issue: How to fix it?
Well, since this is a very annoying issue and has been reported by many, an official fix for it might be released soon. However, we cannot say when such an update will go live, as there isn’t any official update on the same. Anyway, here are some of the workarounds you can try to fix the audio issue in Bigscreen VR.
1). Windows 11
Windows 11 is not supported by Bigscreen yet. If you have upgraded to Windows 11 and plan to use the application, you will need to change the audio output when using the app and revert when not. This is quite inconvenient, as a lot of people don’t know the process. Well, we will go over how to switch audio output in detail later in this guide. So, keep reading.
2). Manually install the Bigscreen audio driver
Sometimes, the issue is not with the app but with the audio drivers the app is using. In order to solve this, you simply need to update the drivers for Bigscreen Audio with the latest ones. To do the same, follow the given steps:
- Launch Bigscreen VR, and go to the Settings menu in the app.
- Head over to the Audio tab and look for the Install Bigscreen Audio driver option. If you see this option, click on the Install Driver option.
- If you see an uninstall driver option instead, this means the latest version is already installed. If that’s the case, you can reinstall it as well.
- Once done, the audio should work as intended.
3). Refresh Audio
This feature was introduced as a patch for the audio issues in-game. If you click the Refresh Audio button in the Myroom section of the app, the audio will refresh and the correct output devices will be chosen. So, if any of the participants or players aren’t able to hear the audio, consider pressing the Refresh Audio button about 2–10 times, and then check whether the issue persists.
4). Setting the correct output device
Setting the correct output device is very important for in-game audio. In Windows 11 and 10, you can select the audio output device as per your preference. Since there is a known issue with audio, you may have to change this setting every time you launch the application. To do this, follow these steps:
- First, go to Windows Settings.
- Here, head to Sound Settings.
- Look for the other sound options and click on Apps and Device Preferences.
- Change it from default to Bigscreen for the app you are trying to stream or broadcast.
- This can solve the audio issue you are having.
For Windows 11, you can just open the volume mixer, look for the app, and change the audio output settings from there. Once you do this, you should have solved the issue. Keep in mind that you will need to do this every time you broadcast any content via Bigscreen.
