In a world where always-online games have become the norm, sometimes you just want to kick back and play on your own terms. No Wi-Fi, no interruptions, just you and your game. This brings us to Schedule I. So, whether you’re looking to run your empire from a remote cabin or just want to avoid those pesky connection issues, you might be wondering: Can you play Schedule I offline? Here we are with all the answers.

While Schedule I is designed with multiplayer in mind, not everyone wants or needs to be constantly connected. Maybe you’re just here for the solo grind, or perhaps your internet is about as reliable as a sketchy dealer’s promises. Either way, knowing whether the game supports offline play can make all the difference in planning your next session

First of all, you don’t need a crew to run your business in Schedule I. The game lets you dive into a single-player experience where you can complete missions, build your operation, and explore the world at your own pace. No matchmaking, no waiting on friends, and no awkward “Hey, you still there?” messages when someone goes AFK mid-mission. Just you and the game.

Does it require the internet?

Here’s the catch: while you can play solo, Schedule I still requires an internet connection because it’s tied to your Steam account. Even if you’re not engaging with multiplayer features, Steam needs to be running and connected for you to access the game. So, if you were hoping to take your criminal empire on the road without Wi-Fi, think again. Unlike some other titles that offer a true offline mode, Schedule I currently does not. If Steam isn’t running or if you’re completely cut off from the internet, you won’t be able to launch the game. This means that if your connection drops or your router decides to take a break, your empire goes on an unplanned hiatus!

Want to stay undetected?

If you don’t want your friends or family to see that you’re running a virtual criminal empire, simply set your Steam status to offline or invisible before launching Schedule I. This way, you can quietly build your empire without awkward questions popping up in your messages. Just remember, while you can hide your activity from others, Steam still requires an internet connection to run the game, so you won’t be completely off the grid!

Also, for those playing co-op, there’s another limitation to keep in mind. If you’ve been running your empire with a friend, you can’t just hop into their world when they’re offline. The host has to be present for the game world to exist. Essentially, if they’re not online, the entire operation gets locked for you.

And that should clear your doubts on this matter. We do hope that the devs will implement a true offline mode with the full release of the game.
