The Stardew Valley-esque game Coral Island was released earlier this month after being in early access for a year. Developed by Stairway Games, it received a very positive rating on Steam, with 90% of all its reviews being positive. This makes sense considering the game allows players to live out their wildest fantasies like leaving behind the big city life to own a farmhouse of their own out in the country, getting a choice between becoming a farmer, animal rearer, or more, and having the opportunity to build relationships with the NPCs. And yes, in case you were wondering, that includes the potential for romantic relationships with 25 NPCs. This game really is a have-it-all, and as of writing this article, you can play it on PC, PS5, and Xbox series X/S. But what about Coral Island on the Nintendo Switch?
The Nintendo Switch is a pretty versatile handheld gaming platform that seems perfect for games like Coral Island. However, as of right now, the game is not available on the Switch, which is frustrating for many, as not everyone might have a PC or a console like the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. So, when will Coral Island be released for the Nintendo Switch? Keep reading this article until the end to find out.
Coral Island Nintendo Switch Release Date: When is it coming out?
The developers have mentioned in the FAQ that they are aiming to release Coral Island for the Nintendo Switch in 2024. The stated reason for this is that they want to make sure that the players’ experience with the Switch version of the game is the best. They have also mentioned that if you purchased a Switch key but want to play the game’s v1.0, they can facilitate a key exchange for a Steam key. All you have to do is send an email with the subject “Request to exchange to a Steam key” to support@stairwaygames.com. However, key changes between consoles are not possible.
As of right now, the developers have been fairly tight-lipped on any further developments aside from the 2024 release date of the game on the Nintendo Switch. However, judging by other games, it is likely to take some time, as developing games for platforms like the Nintendo Switch is no easy task due to the lack of hardware power. The game needs to be heavily optimized for a smooth experience on the Switch. So, we expect it to probably be out in Q2 or Q3 of 2024, if all goes well. But make sure to take this information with a pinch of salt, as there’s no confirmation of the same. Anyway, until then, be sure to check out Android Gram for more such articles.
