The Yellow Moray Eel, as the name suggests, is a yellow eel that can be caught if you have patience. Since there are no quests requiring this fish, it is essentially a collector catch or something you can use to gift other NPCs in-game. There are some conditions you need to meet before you can catch this eel, however.
How to catch it?
Catching this eel requires special conditions. You can only catch it in the summer or spring seasons (15-28), and that too at evening/night. You will need a medium/large bait to trap this fish and a fishing pole (Master Fishing Pole). When these conditions are met, you will be ready to go out and catch this fish in Coral Island. This fish appears in the Ocean (Beach) location so make sure to head over there to cast your line.
What can you do with it?
Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do with the Yellow Moray Eel. It cannot be used to cook, nor is it required for any quests. However, one Yellow Moray Eel is required for the Rare Fish offering in the Catch altar. Well, it is a collectible fish that gives you bragging rights. Like with other fish, you can sell it for cash, gift it to an NPC, or donate it to a museum. While it does not have too many uses, it does fetch a good price when sold. You can sell the base version for 745, which makes them very good ways to earn money. If you have the resources for it and can accommodate the time required to catch them, they can be a good investment.
Why not catch something else?
As we said, this eel is only going to appeal to collectors. It does give you bragging rights because of the value and rarity of the fish. Apart from this, you can certainly catch fish that are far more useful to you in-game. Fishes in the game can be used for all kinds of activities, but this particular fish’s usage is limited.
