So, the auto-hide chat window in Destiny 2 is a feature where players can decide if the text chat window will always be present during the gameplay. Since the chat feature is an important one while playing co-op games, many players keep this setting- OFF. But, due to a bug, the game turns the setting itself to ON and players have to manually set it OFF every time. Since the default option is set to ON, the chat window gets removed during gameplay. Well, the game is able to retain certain options like helmet on/off, colorblind mode, etc but it seems that it is failing to do the same for the auto-hide option only.
