Forza Motorsport is the new installment in the Forza series, which has been one of the top highlights of the Xbox console for years. October 10, 2023, is the day when the game will hit the shores of the gaming market; however, as of writing, it is currently available in early access. The game features way over 500 cars that you can choose from, along with paint jobs and modding options. The AI mechanism also took it up a notch, and now you can feel the thrill and depth of the environment right from the beginning. Anyway, what most racing games have in common is not the vehicles or maps; instead, it’s the control layout. Yes, the Forza series had the same control for years; however, the new practice feature in Forza Motorsport is what many are not quite fond of. If you too find them annoying, read this guide, as by the end, you will learn how to skip the annoying practice sessions in Forza Motorsport.
If you bought the premium edition of this game, then you already have access to the game before its global release. Now, in this new installment, the developers have introduced a new practice session feature that triggers before each race in the career mode. Well, if it were a game like Palia where the concepts and controls are unique, then a tutorial before every major task would seem justified. But since it’s yet another racing game, it makes no sense to run through the tracks during practice instead of running the actual race. Several players also shared the same concern, as they stated that races of 4 laps have practice sessions of 3 laps, which seems unnecessary. So, how do you skip them? Continue reading to find out.
Forza Motorsport: How To Skip Practice Session
Let’s clarify what practice mode offers. It’s a separate session before the actual race starts where you can just take a quick rundown of the track, test your vehicle, etc. These practice sessions also reward you with car experience points when the specified laps, or practice objectives, are completed. However, not everyone would want to spend their time in the practice session instead of the actual race. This is why knowing how to skip them is important.
How to Skip the Practice Sessions?
Forza Motorsport eventually lets its players skip the practice sessions. However, you cannot skip them before entering races. You have to enter the practice session first and then quit it. Well, if it can be skipped, then why even force the practice session in the first place? Well, we don’t know. However, there should have been a button to skip right when the practice began. But since this is not available, here’s how you can skip them:
- First of all, enter a race and start the practice session.
- Once your car starts rolling, press start if you are using a controller or the Escape key if you are on a PC with a keyboard.
- The Pause Menu will now pop up.
- Here, navigate to the last option: Exit.
- Inside, you will have three options. However, you need to choose the second one, called Skip Practice.
- After this, select Yes, and you have successfully skipped the practice session for that race. Once you do this, you will be directed to the actual race.
Should you skip practice?
The choice depends on you. If you want some extra EXP points, have a detailed perspective of the racetrack you will be racing on, and have extra time to spare, you can complete the session objectives and get the rewards. However, if you are more interested in progressing further in the career mode by completing various races in the least amount of time, then you can consider skipping them.
