PlayStation 5 has become an established name in the past two years since its release in November 2020. From waiting in lines at night to get their hands on this next-gen console to having the time of their life on the console, PS5 users have come a long way. Although the PS5 is almost flawless in terms of design and software, it is also true that this console is also an electronic device. Electronic devices often experience bugs and glitches over the years of their development and PS5 is also not an exception when it comes to such bugs. Sometimes, problems like the games not downloading in the rest mode arise on PS5. However, there is nothing that cannot be fixed and there are some workarounds that will address the rest mode issue in PS5 if you have encountered it.

Games not downloading in rest mode on PS5: Fixes & Workarounds
Rest mode is an essential feature in the PS5 that helps the user to put the device in a hibernation state. The best part about the rest mode is that your device will continue to download games even when it’s partially off. For example, if you have to download a very large file for a game, you can just start the download, put the PS5 into rest mode, and get back to your normal life. All you have to do is press the PS button on your DualSense controller and select the Rest mode. However, if your download interrupts in the rest mode, try following these fixes:
1) Check your internet connection:
Make sure that you are properly connected to the internet. For this, you need to go to any website that checks the downloading and uploading speed of your internet connection. If your internet connection is unstable, try switching to a different network.
2) Enable download and install options automatically:
Go to the System Software Update and Settings on your PS5. Here you will find two options. One is the Download Update Files Automatically and the second is Install Update Files Automatically. Enable them both and try downloading games in rest mode again.
3) Enable download and install game files options automatically:
Go to the PS5 settings and open the Saved Data and Game/App Settings tab. Here, you will find the Automatic Updates option. Enable the auto download and select the auto-install option in Rest Mode. In the end, press X to save these settings.
4) Update your PS5:
If there are any pending updates for your PS5, update them without going to the rest mode and try downloading the games in the rest mode again.
5) Rest your PS5:
You can also try to reset your PS5 if none of the fixes given above work. Enter the safe mode of your console by holding the power button for approximately 10 seconds. Now, connect the Dual Sense controller to your PS5 via a USB port. After that, select the reset your console option. Once the process is over, turn on your PS5 again.
These methods will solve the rest mode issue on your PS5. However, if the problem persists, connect immediately with the concerned Sony authorities.
