Google Slides not downloading as PowerPoint: How to fix it
1) Restart Browser/Clear Cache
If you are unable to download a Google Slides file as PowerPoint, you can try restarting the browser and trying again. But if the issue persists, you can delete the browser cache or even sign out of your Google account that’s linked with the browser. Once done, sign back in, and then check if the download takes place.
2) Check File Access
You must make sure that the file you are trying to download has the required permissions. If you are downloading a Google Slides file that’s not yours, you have to check whether the download permission of the file is enabled. You can right-click on the file, and select File Information>Details to check if download permission is provided. If not, then contact the file owner to allow downloading of that file.
3) Download via Google Drive
If you are unable to download the Google Slides file by selecting File>Download>Download as MS Powerpoint, consider accessing GDrive and then right-clicking on the file and then selecting Download. This should automatically start the .pptx version download.
4) Download as PDF and then convert
If only the download as MS PowerPoint option is not working, you can choose to download the PDF version and then convert it to .pptx using a third-party service that facilitates file type conversion. But doing so might mess up the formatting so tread accordingly.
5) Reduce File Size/Download 20-25 slides
This issue can also occur if the size of the Google Slides file is very large. In that case, you will have to restrict yourself to downloading around 20–25 slides each, and then merging all of them together in MS PowerPoint.
