Are you looking for a step-by-step guide to transferring your data from a PS4 to a PS5? Then let me introduce you to this article.
It is very difficult to get your hands on the latest consoles these days. And if you somehow get a PS5, no mistakes must be made when setting it up. If you have recently upgraded to a PS5, here is how you can transfer all the data from your PS4 using an ethernet cable. Everything you need to do is mentioned step by step to ensure everything goes smoothly. You won’t have to worry about losing the data on your PS4. The process is just to copy the files on the PS5.
Preparing the consoles for the transfer:
First, connect your PS4 to your PS5 using a LAN cable. Then in both the consoles, go to Network > Setup Internet connection > Use Wi-Fi > Yes. Now, select your personal network and add the password to connect. Do this to both the consoles. Remember that it is very important you connect them to the same Wi-Fi network. Also, sign in with the same profile on both consoles. To do this, you will have to remember your email address and password. If you are uncertain of your credentials, check the account information on your PS4 (assuming that you are already logged in there).

Data transfer from PS4 to PS5:
Once the setup for the transfer is complete, follow these steps on your PS5. Go to Settings > System > System software > Data transfer. Now, follow the on-screen prompts to continue with the process. You will be able to read all the information regarding the data transfer on your screen. Read them carefully to ensure that you aren’t missing out on any detail. Select ‘Continue’ to let the PS5 start searching for your PS4 on the network. You will be asked to press the power button on your PS4 within a minute. This message will pop up on the screen with a one-minute timer counting down. Hold down the power button on your PS4 until you hear a ‘beep’ sound. Let go of the button when you hear the beep.
When both the consoles are ready for the transfer, you will be able to see a list of files on your PS5 screen. Select the files you want to transfer and select next. The files that are already synced with your account will be greyed out. You don’t have to choose these files as they are already a part of your database. Select ‘Start transfer’, and the data transfer will begin. This will take a few minutes. Once the transfer is complete, restart your console, and you should find all your data from your PS4 in your PS5 using an ethernet cable. However, keep in mind that the ethernet cables for the data transfer between PS4 and PS5 are not an obligation. It is recommended to use one to increase the speed of data transfer.
