So, you’ve faced off against the mighty Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds, felt the adrenaline, maybe even carted once (or three times)—and now you’re itching for a rematch? Whether you want redemption, more loot, or just to flex your skills, you’re not alone. With Title Update 1 rolling out, here’s how you can challenge this towering beast all over again and make it count in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Title Update 1 for Monster Hunter Wilds went live on April 4, 2025, bringing loads of fresh content. Zoh Shia is now a repeatable encounter for HR 50+ hunters, and the new Grand Hub lets players team up and manage squads in a lively new space. There’s also the Festival of Accord seasonal event starting April 23 and an Arch-tempered Rey Dau event quest arriving April 30. More updates and a Capcom collaboration are on the way later in May! That aside, let’s get back to fighting Zoh Shia again.

Once you’ve taken down Zoh Shia in the main story of Monster Hunter Wilds, you might be left wondering, “Wait, that was it? But fear not, because Title Update 1 changes the game. Literally. Here is how to refight this boss!

Refighting Zoh Shia

To fight the High Rank version of Zoh Shia (and, yes, finally get that sweet gear), you’ll first need to hit Hunter Rank 50. If you’re not there yet, now’s the time to start grinding: knock out those optional quests, dig into investigations, or dive into event quests. Everything counts, and the higher your rank, the more juicy content unlocks, including the mission you’re after. Once you reach HR 50, keep an eye out for a new Chapter 6-2 mission called “A First Cry.” This kicks off after meeting with Allhearken and Olivia in Suja, where a mysterious anomaly at the Dragontorch sparks a new investigation. After the cutscenes, talk to Alma, and you will be asked if you’re sure you’re ready. Say yes, and you’re headed back to the Dragontorch for round two with the beast.

Farm for resources

But that’s just the intro battle. The real trick is making Zoh Shia appear again as a repeatable encounter. Here’s how it works: After completing “A First Cry,” Zoh Shia has a random chance of spawning in the Ruins of Wyveria—but only during the Wyvern’s Wakening environment state. The best shot? Morning time, according to hunters who’ve had the most luck. You don’t need to rest cycle repeatedly, but some players have found success refreshing the area during Inclemency, especially after finishing the HR50 quest. Just keep checking the Environment Overview, and when the right conditions align, Zoh Shia might spawn and be made into a quest. It’s a bit of a waiting game, and not every reset will do the trick. Some players have had him pop up within an hour; others, not so lucky. But once he shows up, you can keep fighting him as long as the conditions are met. Time to get hunting—and maybe stock up on bubble-resistant gear while you’re at it.

With that, your doubts about refighting Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds should be cleared. For more such interesting gaming-related reads, make sure to visit Android Gram first. Also, click here to find out how to fix the Monster Hunter Wilds ew_30d43 error.
