Type in ‘powershell’ in the Windows search box and open the Powershell app with administrator priveleges. You need to paste the following command in the window – Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name windows.immersivecontrolpanel | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
Press the enter key.
The next command you will have to put in is – Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
This command might take some time to execute itself, so wait patiently. Once, both these commands are executed, try opening the settings app again. This method solves the settings file system error for most users.
4) Clean boot:
Search for ‘System Configuration’ in the Windows search box and launch the first search result. Select the Services tab and check the ‘Hide all Microsoft services’ option. Now, select ‘Disable all’ > ‘Apply’ > ‘OK’. You will then see an option to restart your computer. Go through with it and then try to launch the Settings app again. 5) Update Windows using media creation tool:
Visit the Microsoft website by clicking here. On the website, select the download button that is under ‘Create Windows 11 installation media’.
