Nordhold is a recently released tower defense roguelite that has been developed by Stunforge and published by HypeTrain Digital and StunForge. It basically features the typical elements of a tower defense game where waves of enemies will come at regular intervals to destroy what you built. Your city, its economy, and everything will be affected, so every decision you make towards strengthening your defense against enemies will define what you will achieve in the game. From over 100+ custom upgrades that add customizable variety to the game to hundreds of heroes to choose from, Nordhold is here to immerse you in this epic adventure. Well, considering this is a single-player game, it is quite obvious that you might have been wondering whether a multiplayer co-op mode will be released for it. Of course, single-player games are addictive, but it is the multiplayer genre that has been ruling the gaming scene for decades. Most games offer a multiplayer mode for players to party with their friends and play together or a PvP mode to battle it out, or sometimes both. Nordhold Multiplayer Co-Op Mode Release Date: Is it coming?
After the game’s recent release, a player raised a query on the game’s Steam discussion forum asking whether Nordhold will get a co-op mode in the future. In response to this, developed Stunforge | Basti shared the following:
To be honest we did not think about this alot yet, to implement such a feature we would need to think about “how does this work / how can you effectivly play with a friend” and on the other hand rebuild the game structure to support multiplayer / coop.
So for now i gotta let you down and say its not planned.
From this, it is clear that the developers have no plans to include multiplayer support for Nordhold, at least not in the near future. They stated that introducing multiplayer mode will require them to rebuild the game structure to support it, which for them might be too much for now. So, based on this, it is safe to say that Nordhold will remain a single-player game for the time being.
