Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: How to get Riolu & evolve into Lucario?
Riolu can be hatched from a Riolu egg in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To get a Riolu egg in the game, simply head over to Canalave City and use the boat to reach Iron Island. After reaching the island, head towards the top where you will find a cave opening. Enter the area and interact with a character named Riley. Team up with him and defeat other pokemon trainers in that area. After you have completed all the double team fights, Riley will thank you at the end and will hand you a Pokemon Egg which is in fact a Riolu Egg. Now, place it in your party and then walk 6000 steps to further hatch it into Riolu. Once this is done, now you need to evolve it into Lucario.
Note: Make sure that you are walking with Riolu after hatching the egg as it increases the friendship level.
To evolve Riolu into Lucario in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you will need to increase its friendship level. To do so, head over to the departmental store and buy the following items:
1) Protein x27
2) Iron x27
3) Calcium x1
After buying these items, feed them to Riolu. Now, trigger an encounter with any wild pokemon and make sure that Riolu is in front of your party. After the battle ends, your Riolu will be evolved to Lucario provided that its friendship level is very high.
