In Pokemon Go, the objective of the game is to collect different Pokemon. To do so, you need various items like pokeballs, berries, and more, which are acquired by various methods. Arguably the most important item to capture a Pokemon is the Pokeball, which you acquire from Pokestops. Making use of Pokestops is a pretty crucial aspect of the game, as they drop not only Pokeballs, but also items like Pokemon Eggs, Berries, Potions, and so on. However, players have reported not getting gifts from Pokestops in Pokemon Go. So, if you too are encountering a similar issue, consider reading this guide until the end.
While in the game, players can interact with Pokestops by spinning the Photo Disc. Doing so grants 50 XP and a bunch of random items, which include gifts. Gifts are items that you can send to friends that contain higher-value stuff than normal Pokestop drops. However, players have reported an issue where they are not getting these gifts from Pokestops in Pokemon Go. So keep reading this guide for workarounds to fix the issue.
Pokemon Go not receiving gifts from Pokestops Issue: How to fix it?
There can be a couple of reasons for this issue. We have listed them below, along with their fixes.
Check your inventory –
Pokemon Go only allows players to have 20 gifts in their item bag at once, as mentioned on the official page. Even though gifts do not take up space in the item bag, you cannot have more than 20 at a given time. So check if you are already carrying 20 gifts, because that might be what is causing this issue.
Wait for the next day –
As pointed out by AidenB131313, you can only get a maximum of 100 gifts per day from Pokestops. So if you have been spinning pokestops a lot today, try waiting until tomorrow to receive more gifts. This is what the issue was with OrangeGringo.
Set date and time to automatic –
Pokemon Go uses your device’s date and time for a lot of things, including refreshing spun Pokestops. As quatre185 mentioned, not having it set to automatic causes a lot of issues. To do this on an iPhone, go to Settings > General > Date & Time, and turn on ‘Set automatically’. On Android, go to Settings > Additional Settings > Date & Time, and turn on ‘Set time automatically’. Once done, launch the game and check whether the issue persists.
Check your internet –
Pokemon Go requires an internet connection to function. So, make sure that your internet is working correctly. If not, try rebooting your router or switching to mobile data.
Well, those were some of the troubleshooting steps you can try to fix the not getting gifts from Pokestops issue in Pokemon Go. If those workarounds did not work, try re-installing the game or contact support. In the meantime, be sure to check out Android Gram for more such guides.
