But it would be a shame to give up on reading a book just because you are unable to carry one around. That is why, I would consider apps like Scribd, a boon. Considering that Scribd is responsible for providing its users with digital copies of books they like, no one really expects a problem with accessing those books. Fixes for Scribd book failed to open error:
Re-download the book:
Scribd’s support page suggests re-downloading the book or audiobook that is throwing an error when trying to open it. So go to the list of “Downloads” content on Scribd’s app. Then go to Manage Downloaded Titles > Tap the trash icon. This will remove the book from the list of downloaded titles. Now go ahead and download the book again. Make sure that your internet connection is stable before doing so. Once the book is downloaded again, try opening it. This time the Failed to open error shouldn’t prevent you from reading a book on Scribd.
Update app:
Scribd’s claims errors and problems with the app are fixed with updates. So it is in your best interest to check if there are any updates lined up for the Scribd app. Go to the store available on your device (PlayStore on Android and App Store on Apple). Search for the Scribd app in the search box at the top of the screen. And then select the update button under the app icon. The update button will only be visible if there is an update lined up for the app. If there are no updates available for the app, move on to the next step. But if you can, install the update and open Scribd to check if the “failed to open” error persists.
Check internet:
It is also possible that your internet connection is stopping you from opening a particular book. This cannot be the case for your downloaded titles. If the problem is with opening a downloaded title, directly go to the next step. But if you are facing an issue with reading a book online, try opening other apps. A problem with your internet connection will affect all the apps on your device. If other apps on your device are having a problem loading in as well, contact your ISP to get your internet connection fixed.
