Manually Create Civ 7 Folder
To fix this issue, you will need to manually create a folder named “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII” in the Documents/MyGames folder. How to access the Documents folder? Simple. Open the drive where Windows is installed and then go to the Users folder. Here, open the folder with your username on it. Now, open the Documents folder and then the My Games folder.
Here, create a folder with the following name: “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII”. Once done, you can launch the game, progress a bit, and then restart the game to check whether the progress is saved.
Enable Crossplay and save progress
Even after doing this, there is still a chance that the game won’t load your progress. In such a case, consider launching the game and then enabling cross-play. After this, save your progress to check whether this fixes the issue.
Disable Controlled Folder Access
For this workaround, you will need to access the Virus & Threat Protection menu. How? Open the Start menu and type Windows Security. Select the first result and then access the Virus & Threat Protection option. Here, scroll down to find the Ransomware Protection option. Now, select the Manage Ransomware Protection option and then disable the Controlled Folder Access option. Once done, launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
Look for blocked access application
In the same Virus & Threat Protection menu, select the Protection History option and then find entries related to Civ 7. If found, make sure to remove them from this list and allow access. Once this is done, you can launch the game to check whether the issue persists.
With these workarounds, you should be able to fix the unable to save progress issue in Sid Meier’s Civilization VII. We hope that you find this guide informative. If yes, consider visiting Android Gram daily for more such interesting content on all things gaming.
