The Soundcore VR P10 currently happens to be one of the best true wireless earbuds for the Meta Quest 2 and 3. Offering an LC3 codec for fast audio transfer along with other features like multi-platform compatibility, less than 30m low latency, and more, the Soundcore VR P10 is a remarkable piece of hardware. However, as good as it is, the earbuds do have a few issues that many users would like to get rid of. And a major one happens to be related to the earbuds not working properly with the Quest 3.
Released as a successor to the Quest 2, Meta’s Quest 3 was released just recently on October 10, 2023. And when it comes to all the VR headsets on the market right now, the Quest 3 is certainly the go-to choice for many VR users. So, it’s only evident that users would also want the best audio to go with the headset. Now, we can’t really say what’s the main cause behind this issue. For some, it could be an outdated firmware version, while for others, the issue might be due to faulty hardware. Regardless of what the cause here is, a major issue like this one needs to be dealt with ASAP. So, let’s go ahead and find out if there are any fixes for this.
Soundcore VR P10 not working with Quest 3: How to fix it?
Since there’s no official fix for these issues, players will have to make do with the following workarounds. Try these and find out if any of them are of help in resolving this issue.
Restart your headset –
One player was able to fix this issue by using the restart method. What this player did was restart the Quest 3 and connect the dongle on the home screen. Additionally, you can also try pushing in the USB-C dongle a little harder and see if that helps. If the issue still persists, switch to another workaround.
Charge –
A very simple cause for this could be that the Soundcore VR P10 is out of charge, hence the issue. As such, we highly suggest that you make sure the buds are charged. And while you are at it, do the same with Quest 3.
Reset the buds –
Users can also try resetting their buds to see if that helps with this issue. For those who don’t know how to do that, all you need to do is press and hold the button that’s on the charging case for more than ten seconds while the earbuds are inside it. When you see the indicator light on the case turn red and flash three times, it will mean that the buds have been successfully reset.
Reset the Quest 3 –
If the previous method didn’t help, try resetting your Quest 3. Now, before you reset the Quest 3, make sure you save all of your important files. Once you are done with that, power off your Quest 3. Wait for at least sixty seconds, following which you need to press and hold both the power and volume down buttons at the same time until you feel a vibration from your headsets. When the Oculus boot logo appears on the screen, release your fingers from the buttons. Wait for the reset process to be over. After the reset is complete, you will see the “Welcome” screen. Now, just start setting up your Quest 3.
Try a different VR P10 –
This one isn’t really feasible but if you or someone you know happens to have another VR P10, we suggest using it and checking if it connects to your Quest 3. If it does, then the issue lies with your buds. And if it doesn’t, then Quest 3 is the problem here. If it’s the former, you can either send it for repair or purchase a new one.
Get the latest firmware update for the buds –
Yes, you can indeed update your buds. However, to get the latest firmware updates, you will need to download the Soundcore app on your phone. Once it is installed, connect the app to your buds. If there’s an update available, you will get a prompt. In case there’s indeed one, download and install the update. Additionally, we also recommend updating your Quest 3, if there’s a software update available for it too.
