Debuting on November 20, 2024, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the new talk of town for players. From what we have seen till now, the game has surely received a very warm reception, with over 60K concurrent players trying it out, and that’s on Steam only. Well, that’s not quite surprising, given that the Stalker series has been evidently doing well since its inception in 2007. After a total of 15 years from the last game, Heart of Chornobyl finally made it to specific platforms, which include PC and Xbox Series X/S only. Now, given that the game is available on both PCs and consoles, it is obvious handheld owners will be looking for details regarding its compatibility with these devices. So, here’s our guide with all the details featuring the compatibility status of Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl with the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go.
If you take a glance at the trailer of the game or even any gameplay videos that have surfaced on YouTube, you will instantly notice the high graphical fidelity level of the game. Being a post-apocalyptic immersive sim, graphics is one of the most important aspects, and the developers left no stone unturned to achieve that. Due to this, the system requirements of Stalker 2 are on the higher side. So, will it run on the Steam Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go? Let’s find out.

Steam Deck
Well, as mentioned already, the graphical fidelity of Stalker 2 makes it a no-brainer for Valve to exclude it from the list of Playable or Verified games for the Steam Deck. Currently, it is listed as neither, and we don’t think it will receive Deck compatibility anytime soon. But, similar to other games, Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl sure runs on the Steam Deck, despite lacking official compatibility. However, the experience isn’t very good. While the game runs on the Deck, you will merely get close to 30 FPS with the lowest settings and upscaling enabled. For an FPS game, 30FPS is not ideal, which is why we don’t recommend playing the game on the Deck. Here’s a gameplay video showcasing the game’s performance on the Deck:
Asus Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go
Well, considering that the Rog Ally and Legion Go are slightly better than the Deck in terms of hardware, they too struggle to run the game without Upscaling enabled. With Resolution set to 800p and FSR 3.1 enabled, you should get 35–40 FPS in-game on both the Rog Ally and Legion Go. But if you are hungry for more FPS and can compromise on visuals, you can technically achieve 60+ FPS in-game (only in some areas) by setting FSR 3.1 to Ultra Performance and enabling Frame Generation. Here are the gameplay videos showcasing the game’s performance on the Rog Ally and Legion Go.
