When it comes to the turn-based tactics genre, one of the best games in recent years has been Chucklefish’s Wargroove series. Taking inspiration from Nintendo’s Advanced Wars series, Chucklefish released Wargroove back in 2019. The reception to the first game was quite positive, with many praising its high-quality pixel art graphics, the incredible level editor, and the gameplay, of course. Following the release of Wargroove, Chucklefish spent a few more years developing the sequel and finally released it on October 5, 2023. And just like the previous one, the latest entry into the series also received impressive reviews from both critics and fans. That said, a lot of fans have already had plenty of fun with the game, and now want to know when the next one will be released. There are not really that many new turn-based tactics games right now, especially ones like Advanced Wars. This is also one of the major reasons why the Wargroove series is so popular with many. Suffice it to say, the turn-based tactics genre in particular is really in need of some new games. Many are hoping that the success of Wargroove and the new Advanced Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will help new developers tackle the genre with their unique ideas. Wargroove 2 was a good improvement on the first game, and as such, many players are looking forward to knowing what Chucklefish is planning with Wargroove 3. So, let’s go ahead and find out all about it!!
Wargroove 3 Release Date: When it will be available
As of now, developer and publisher Chucklefish is yet to announce the release of Wargroove 3. We don’t even know whether the next entry in the series is being developed or not. So, for now, you will have to enjoy Wargroove 1 & 2 as it is while waiting for Wargroove 3.
As we stated before, Wargroove 2, the latest game in the series, was just released last year on October 5, 2023, and so, expecting the developers to announce a sequel so soon is quite unlikely. Furthermore, we also think that before we get the next game, the developers will be focusing on a DLC for Wargroove 2. Wargroove had one free DLC called Double Trouble, so we are sure that Wargroove 2 will also receive at least one DLC as well.
It took Chucklefish about four years or so to develop Wargroove 2, so there’s still a few more years until Wargroove 3. Well, that’s if the developers follow the same release schedule as before. For now, there’s really nothing else fans can do except have fun with Wargroove 1 and 2. If we do get any information on Wargroove 3, we will be sure to let you know.
