CS2 replaced CSGO a couple of months ago, to a variety of player reactions. Many were upset about the fact that the old game was removed while its replacement had changed some of the old mechanics entirely. Despite all this, CS2 is the replacement for CSGO, which means it is quite popular, catering to hundreds of thousands of players online at a given instant. As a player, finding out where you stand among them can be important, but how do you make sense of the percent rank in CS2? If you are wondering the same thing, continue reading.
CS2 has a system where it shows you your percent rank, marked as ‘%Rank’, for finding out how your performance compares to everyone else. We know that comparison is the thief of joy and everything, but CS2 is not exactly that kind of game. You want to beat everyone else and claim a spot on that leaderboard for yourself. So, what exactly does your percent rank mean in CS2? Keep reading this guide until the end to find out.
What does percent rank mean in CS2?
Your percent rank in CS2 is the percentage of people better than you. For example, if CS2 says your percent rank is ’70’, that means you are among the top 70% of players, or 70% of players are better than you. Implying that, of course, there are 30% of players who are worse than you. Imagine there were a total of 100 people playing CS2. If your CS2 percent rank was 70 percent, it would mean there are 70 players who play better than you and 30 who are worse.
Simply put, the lower this number is, the better it means you are. If it says something like ‘%10’, then congratulations! You are among the top 10% of players! However, like SnooChickens3595, you too might be wondering if these players include literally everyone, or is the percent ranking in CS2 region-based? It seems the ranking is out of all the players in the world. So do not worry if your rank is not as good as you were hoping; there are a lot of players.
There is also an alternate ranking system in CS2, called Counter-Strike Rating. It is influenced by the new Premier mode and covers all maps. Its leaderboard, however, is seasonal and regional. You must win 10 Premier Mode games in order to get this rating, so good luck with that. In the meantime, be sure to check out Android Gram for more such guides.
