Fixes for YouTube TV not working on Smart TV:
Restart YouTube TV:
The most basic yet most effective troubleshooting method is restarting the problematic service. In this case, the service that is facing an issue is the YouTube TV app on your smart TV. Hence, close YouTube TV and also remove it from the list of recently used applications on your device. Some smart TVs can have a list dedicated to recent apps on their home page. Remove YouTube TV from that list as well. Now, open the app again and check if it is working correctly.
Hard reset device:
Hard resetting your Smart TV is easier than you think. Just unplug your TV’s power cable from the wall outlet directly. You don’t have to turn off your device. After unplugging the power cable, press the power button on your TV and keep it pressed for about 30 seconds. After 30 seconds release the button and plug the power cable back. This should fix the YouTube TV app on your Smart TV.
Check for updates:
If a hard reset cannot do the job, check the YouTube TV app and your smart TV device for updates. Go to the device settings and check if there are firmware updates lined up for it. Install the updates that are available. Now go to the application store on the smart TV. If YouTube TV can be updated, update it as well.
Reinstall YouTube TV:
If the steps above did not manage to fix the problem, uninstall YouTube TV from your Smart TV. After the uninstallation, restart the TV using the remote and install YouTube TV again. This time, everything should work fine.
