Heroic, also known as Heroic Games Launcher, is a native graphical user interface (GUI) option designed to replace the Epic Games Launcher (EGL) on Linux, Windows, and MacOS operating systems. The platform offers an intuitive interface for accessing Epic and GOG games, as well as the capability to add non-native games from external sources. A download queue allows for the simultaneous download of multiple games, and Windows games can be installed and launched using Wine or Proton, while native GOG games can be launched directly. The platform also provides support for cloud saves for both GOG and Epic Games, and allows for the import of games installed through the Epic Store or GOG Galaxy. However, lately, many players are experiencing an issue where Heroic Launcher is not launching games on their system. Therefore, we will be discussing some of the best methods to fix this issue.

Heroic Launcher not Launching games: Fixes & Workarounds
These are the following fixes through which you can make the games launch via your Heroic Launcher:
1) Re-login to your Epic account:
The first thing you can do is re-login to your Epic Games account in the Heroic Launcher. After that, you can restart the launcher to make it function smoothly.
2) Re-install the launcher:
If logging in again didn’t work, you can simply reinstall the launcher on your device. This can help clear any corrupted files inside the launcher which might be preventing the games from opening.
3) Change your username:
If you have any unsupported characters in your Epic Games username, you need to change it to a much simpler username with appropriate characters. After this is done, try launching the game via the Heroic Launcher, and the issue should be fixed.
4) Launch Heroic Launcher via terminal:
To initiate the game launch via the terminal, first, boot the deck into desktop mode, and then open Dolphin, the file browser for KDE (not the emulator). After that, you will have to go to the folder that contains the game files (most likely in HeroicBashLauncher/GameFiles), right-click on the folder, and choose “Open Console.” In the terminal window that appears, type “./game_name.sh” to initiate the launch.
5) Turn off the Force Compatibility option for Heroic Launcher:
To launch a game in Gaming Mode on your Steam Deck, you can uncheck the “force compatibility” option and select the default Steam Play compatibility tool. If the game has been added through the Heroic Games Launcher, it is unnecessary to force the use of a specific compatibility tool. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the Steam client and navigate to the game’s Properties.
- Select the “Compatibility” tab.
- Uncheck the “force compatibility” option.
- Choose the default Steam Play compatibility tool.
- Save your changes and launch the game from the Heroic Games Launcher.
6) Turn off Game Mode on Steam Deck:
While using the launcher, you can turn off the game mode by unchecking the “Use Game Mode” option in the settings of the game. After this, try launching.
By following these steps, you should be able to launch your favorite games easily via the Heroic Launcher. Anyways, do not forget to visit Androidgram for the latest updates in the world of tech and gaming.
