Enter the magical and ever-so-brilliant world of Hyrule in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Whether it’s conquering colossal enemies, solving challenging puzzles, exploring the huge open world for weapons and armor sets, or sitting by the fire and cooking meals, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has something for everybody. You can also buy and decorate your own house in the game, which is something that we will be covering in this guide.
Owning a house in Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BOTW) was one of the major incentives to play the game. And we are thrilled that it has returned to ToTK, only much cheaper than before. As a prerequisite, make sure you have at least 1500/2000 rupees at your disposal, and you should be good to go.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (ToTK): How To Buy a House
Where to Go To Buy The House?
Starting from Central Hyrule, head east to Tarrey Town (3966, 1611, 0128), located on Lake Akkala. In the village, look for a contemporary-looking house that belongs to Hudson and Rhondson. Here are the coordinates for the house: (3944, 1899, 0128). Speak to Hudson and Rhondson and that should start Mattison’s Independence side adventure. Don’t leave yet. Wait for Hudson to leave the house. After he does so, talk to him. He will ask you to look for Mattison in her room upstairs. Head upstairs, talk to Mattison, and follow her around the town for a bit until you come across her grandparents.
Upon talking to Mattison’s grandparents, they will ask you a question that you need to answer correctly. Choose the third option to get it correct and continue following Mattison to the other side of the village. You should arrive at the coordinates (3938, 1609, 0127).
Going To the Railroads
When you reach the coordinates mentioned in the last section, you need to sneak Mattison towards the Railroad, without letting the guard see her. The way you do this is to throw a Puffshroom at the guard to create smoke and constraint his vision. Speak to Mattison so she can sneak onboard the Railroad to get to her dad. Follow Mattison to the Hudson Construction Site, Akkala Highlands (3789, 1627, 0089).
Hunting for Sundelions
Talk to Mattison and her dad, and they will express their need for 10 Sundelions. If you don’t have Sundelions, don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Sundelions are flowers that are available in abundance in the Sky Islands. Still, if you don’t have enough, you can hop on to the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower and head over to the chain of islands located right next to you while you’re airborne. Here are the coordinates: (1769, -1219, 0923). You should have enough Sundelions at your disposal. When you’re done, head back to Mattison and her father and give them the 10 Sundelions. A cutscene starts playing, and after that’s done, Mattison’s Independence side adventure is complete.
Finally Acquiring the House
After the side adventure is done, head back to Hudson and Rhondson’s house (the one from where you initially started the side adventure). Speak to Rhondson and she will offer you a plot of land for 1500 rupees. If you agree to pay the amount and buy the plot of land, it will start a new side quest called Home on Arrange.
Head to the Rasitakiwak Shrine (4167, 1323, 0243) and speak to the NPC at the counter in the area below it. The counter is located at (4175, 1679, 0208). That NPC, who goes by the name Granteson, is your house builder. And voila! You now have your own house in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You initially start with two rooms, but you can buy additional rooms for some rupees. Hence, you can proceed to decorate your house as per your needs.
