Sea of Start is a turn-based RPG that offers an interesting take on the neo-retro RPG genre. You travel through a brutal and unforgiving world, fighting enemies and gathering resources. This is a typical RPG but with its own interesting twists. It is a difficulty-locked game that can only be changed with various in-game relics. It also has an interesting art style with full retro graphics. Sea of Stars is a top-down game to complement its turn-based combat system. However, what’s more interesting is that it features fishing mechanics. So, if you are wondering how to fish in Sea of Stars, this is just the guide for you.
Unlike most retro RPGs, this game has the makings of a modern RPG. This means you have modern QoL menus and changes that make the game easier to play. You also get excellent storytelling, and much of your exploration will come out of wanting to get rewards and explore various areas of the map. This has made the game very easy to play. There are, of course, classic RPG elements like fishing and resource gathering, which is why we have shared this guide with all the details related to fishing in the game.
Sea of Stars Fishing Guide: How to catch fish?
Fishing is an interesting activity in the Sea of Stars. Unfortunately, you cannot start this activity as soon as you begin your in-game journey. In order to unlock and participate in catching fish, you will need to play the game and defeat the first boss. Don’t worry; it is not that hard.
Fishing in the game involves casting a line and waiting for a fish to be caught. You can release these fish or filet them once they are caught. Since you cannot start fishing at the start of the game, here is how to unlock it:
- Beat the first boss in the game.
- After the fight, continue on the road till you reach a fork. Once there, head left towards Sunglow Lake.
- Now, in this area, you will eventually find a merchant.
- After this encounter, you can start fishing in the nearby pond.
How to fish in the game?
Fishing in the game is mostly about casting your line and waiting for the fish to bite. So, head near a water body, cast your line using the corresponding keybind, and watch the line enter the water surface with the bait. Move it around a little bit with the mouse or the D-Pad/Joystick to get the fish’s attention. Wait for the bite, and then reel it in. You can then release the fish or filet it.
Realistically, there is no benefit to releasing it other than being able to catch it again. You can opt to filet it instead, and this will count as a consumable resource that you can carry with you. We recommend doing this unless you really love fishing and want to fish more. If you want to keep fishing, by all means, go ahead and release the fish and catch them as much as you like.
With that said, this is how you can fish in Sea of Stars. If you found this article helpful, make sure to visit Android Gram for more articles just like this.
