Starfield Suit Protection Depleted Explained

So you were walking around on a cold planet, and it started to rain. You see that your health is dropping, and there is a part of your health bar that has turned yellow. You are wondering what is happening, even though you are wearing your space suit. Don’t worry; keep reading this article, and you will know exactly what has happened to your space suit. Starfield is a complex game with complex RPG mechanics, and this includes status effects. You can be affected by many effects in Starfield. Even though they may take time to activate, they do exist and do pose a significant threat to you.

What you just experienced is likely because your spacesuit protection ran out. This is a very real possibility in the game and something you have to be acutely aware of. Since your spacesuit is your primary form of armor in this game, you will need to be careful not to stress it to the point that its protection depletes totally. In this article, we are going to tell you how to best avoid that.

Starfield Suit Protection Depleted Explained

Starfield Suit Protection Depleted Explained

Suit protection refers to the amount of damage from environmental or other sources your suit can take before you start taking physical damage from it. This is an important stat because it directly corresponds to how long you can weather the elements in Starfield. You visit a lot of planets and a lot of environments on these planets. The reason you are able to survive is because of your spacesuit and your helmet. If their protection runs out, you are left exposed to the elements of the planet you are on. In most cases, this does not mean instant death, but it does mean you are significantly easier to kill (by the elements, of course).

Spacesuit protection is another stat that you can also improve. The more protection you have, the longer you will last in the harshest environment. This is important because cold and heat are also elements your suit protects you from, not just other irritants and hazards. Different suits have different protections against different types of damages, and they can withstand them longer than other suits can.

What happens when protection runs out?

Well, basically, nothing really happens to you in an instant. All that really happens is that your spacesuit stops protecting you from these various damages and status effects. If this happens on a nice and comfortable planet where you are perfectly safe, you don’t need to worry much. If this happens when you are in combat or facing an environmental calamity, you will need to worry. This increases the chances of you taking direct damage from these sources.

Starfield Suit Protection Depleted Explained

Status effects often deplete health and place a yellow bar on your HP pool. You cannot recover beyond that point in your HP pool, and the parts highlighted in yellow are effectively lost until you lose the status effect. In other words, this is an HP reduction mechanism. The more damage you take from the status effects when your suit’s protection is depleted, the harder it is for you to recover your HP. This means you should get a spacesuit that offers high protection against the particular elements the planet is filled with.

Luckily, you can recharge your suit protection and your max HP by being in a safe and oxygen-rich environment where you can breathe. That said, now you know what suit protection depleted means in Starfield. If you found this article helpful and would like to read more, make sure to visit Android Gram for more such content.
