Le Mans Ultimate is a hardcore sim racing game, developed and published by Studio 397. It is a complete sim racing experience. You need to worry about things like tire wear, fuel economy, weight, and aerodynamics while playing this game. Seasoned players will find the entire experience very satisfying, while new players will be able to enter the genre and understand how sim racing games work. Anyway, with the growing popularity of the game, many are wondering when a VR mode will be released for it. So, if you are interested in knowing all the details regarding the same, consider reading until the end.
VR support for sim racing games really elevates the entire experience. Not only can you enjoy the game in fully immersive VR, but you can also look around, which is harder to do with a steering wheel or a controller, while also paying attention to the racing track. Additionally, not many racing games have this feature so it would also set them apart from a lot of other sim racing games like Forza Motorsport. But is this feature ever coming to the game?
Le Mans Ultimate VR Mode Release Date: When will it be available?
Unfortunately, LMU does not have a VR mode available at launch. The early access release only promised the base game and basic functionalities. The VR listing for this game was also removed on Steam. The early access release does include features like widescreen support or triple-monitor support but not VR. Further, there isn’t an official launch date for the VR release either. This makes it impossible to accurately predict when a VR mode will be available for this game.
Will it ever come?
It may or may not. Considering Motorsport Games’s (parent company of Studio 397) close to bankruptcy status and the quality of the early access release, there is a lot of work to be done before VR can be introduced. The game right now is a buggy mess and players are suffering from issues like no FFB on their wheels or bad pitstops and pit lane management. All of this pushes VR further down the pipeline and delays the release date (if any at all). For this reason, we do not see too much hope in a VR release for this title.
However, the official developers did mention that they are expecting VR support to be implemented in-game after the early access launch. So, we are expecting that maybe during May or June 2024, the developers will release the VR mode. But since there is no official confirmation of the same, make sure to take this information with a pinch of salt. In any case, you can try the UEVR mod to launch the game in VR.
How to launch LMU in VR?
Although the game doesn’t have official VR support at the time of writing this guide, you can still enjoy it in VR after following the given steps:
- Launch LMU, head over to the in-game Settings menu and turn off VSync, FSAA, and FXAA.
- Next, set the game to Windowed Mode as well.
- Now, close the game when done.
- After this, head over to Steam and right-click on LMU. Now, go to the General tab, and under the Launch Options section, type +VR in the textbox and launch the game.
- This will launch the game in VR.
We would like to point out that this is a very rudimentary VR experience and you will experience bugs and crashes for sure. There is still no official VR support listed for this game and we are unsure if there ever is going to be. This is the closest you can get to VR in this game currently because of its early access launch, bugs, and other issues that prevail in-game.
Well, now you know when/if a VR mode will be released in Le Mans Ultimate. Anyway, if you found this article helpful and would like to read more such content, make sure to visit Android Gram daily.
