Apple Music not playing downloaded songs

Apple Music is the default music service available on Apple devices. Naturally, many users will use it as the primary source of music. Downloading the songs that you listen to on a daily basis can let you have access to your playlist whenever you like. Doesn’t matter if you have good signal reception or not, you will always have your favorite songs by your side. But what if the downloaded songs on Apple Music don’t play on your Mac? Take a look at the fixes suggested below.

Fixes for Apple Music not playing downloaded songs on Mac:

1) Refresh the downloads list:

The downloaded songs on Apple Music are available for only 30 days. So if it has been 30 days since you last downloaded the songs on your Mac, remove them and add them again. It shouldn’t take that long since the songs that you listen to frequently will be added to a playlist. Download the songs again to fix the problem.

2) Check your subscription validity:

To download songs from Apple music to any device including the Mac, users need to have a subscription. So if your subscription has ended recently, it can stop the downloaded songs from being played. Subscriptions are updated automatically, but they can differ based on your privacy settings. Check if the subscription is active. If it’s not, buy the subscription again and the problem with Apple Music on your Mac will be fixed.

3) Restart the app:

Sometimes it’s that simple! Close the Apple Music app on your Mac. Now open it up again. Check if the downloaded songs can be played normally.

4) Restart your device:

If restarting the app does not work, try restarting the device. Restart your Mac and check if the downloaded songs on Apple Music can be played without any problems.

5) Check the speaker settings:

This step will come in handy if you see the progress bar moving forward but there is no sound. See if you haven’t accidentally muted the speakers or made changes to the sound settings. Reversing the changes you made to the sound settings will fix the Apple Music problem on your Mac.

6) Logout from other devices:

Having more than the permitted number of devices logged in on your Apple Music account can also cause this problem. The number of devices that can be used with a single Apple Music account depends on the subscription. Read the description of your subscribed plan. Once, you know the number of allowed devices, make sure to sign out of a few devices to match that number. This will fix the problem with the downloaded songs from Apple Music on your Mac.
