Ark Survival Ascended is finally out as an early-access title on PC. Lots of Ark players are migrating over from ASE to ASA for the updated graphics and the many changes the game brings. While this is certainly good news, there is a darker aspect that we as players don’t always see before switching. The nature of release itself. Being an early-access game means that it has many problems like the server password issue that a lot of players are facing. So, if you too have encountered the same, consider reading this guide until the end for more details.
Servers usually have passwords to prevent players from accessing them without permission. Since ASA is a multiplayer game, random players joining private servers can be a very annoying situation. Apart from this, you also need it to enable/use console commands and change certain parameters of your game and gameplay experience. This all makes it necessary for servers to have passwords. Unfortunately, as per recent reports, the game keeps displaying the Invalid Server Password message even when players enter the right password to join a server. So, is there a fix? Ark Survival Ascended (ASA) Invalid Server Password Issue: How to fix?
This is an issue the developers need to fix quickly since it impacts the majority of the multiplayer experience of Ark Survival Ascended. Although you can play the game solo in single-player mode, multiplayer is where all the fun is. So, if you are unable to join a server due to the Invalid Server Password message, here are the workarounds you can try:
1). Make sure the password is correct
Make sure you are using the correct password to log into the server. This might sound trivial, but it is the primary reason why a lot of players encounter this issue. So, ensure that you are entering the right password. Also, if you didn’t know, those are case-sensitive.
2). Change the password and try logging in
If the password does not work and you are not able to log in, try changing the password and then logging back into the server. This has worked for a few players and can work for you too.
3). Try using All Caps or all lowercase
This is an issue with Ark servers in general. It sometimes forgets the casing of the password, and you might need to put it in all uppercase or lowercase to get it to work. And while you are at it, try removing the “#” character from your Steam username when entering the server.
4). Join an official server and try again
One more method to do this is to join an official server and then the dedicated one. So, first, join any official server from the server list, and then pause the game. Now, exit to the main menu, and then join the dedicated server. The invalid password issue shouldn’t occur now.
5). Contact Support
If none of these workarounds work for you, you might want to reach out to customer support. They can take a look at your issue and advise you on how to proceed.
