The Rhyniognatha is a massive flying insect-type creature that is very fast and has a huge carry weight capacity. This is a creature that you really want to tame if you have to transport large dinosaurs over long distances. This makes it one of the best mounts in the game to move larger dinosaurs with and makes it really indispensable if you want to go on raids since you can essentially carry an entire diplo on this with the maximum mounted players. But how can you team them?
How to tame them?
This is a passive tame with an interesting mechanic. It is similar to a Reaper Queen in Abberation (if you have played ASE), but just this time, it works for mounts. Like with the Reaper Queen, you will have to make a large trap for this creature and trap it before you start the process. Without a trap, this is going to be difficult to tame, but it is possible to do.
To tame this creature, you will first need to kill a wild Rhyniognatha. Killing a low level one usually helps since it can be done easily. Once killed, it will drop a pheromone that you will have to feed one of your creatures. After this, get ready with the trap for this creature. The best bet is to follow this trap from Captain Fatdog’s video. Now, find and trap a Female Rhyniognatha. After this, you will have to damage the creature until it reaches about 10% of its health. At this point, you can mount the creature you fed the pheromone to. Bring it close to the trapped Rhyniognatha, and it will eventually get impregnated.
Now what?
The impregnated creature will have cravings. You need to feed them the food they want if you want the best stats in your Rhyniognatha. We would also like to point out that the creature you used for this will die at the end of the process. Once dead, you will get yourself a tamed Rhyniognatha.
