Atomic Heart: How to Unlock & Use Cartridges
1) Unlock the first NORA station:
The first step to using a Cartridge is to unlock the first NORA station, which allows you to add custom parts to your weapon. The base axe you start with already has a slot, so you can equip a slot as soon as you get to the first station.
2) Craft a cartridge
Once you have the slot equipped, you need to craft one of the three cartridges: Ice, Fire, or Electric. To unlock the recipes, play through the first part of the game and search all the large chests you’ll find by scanning.
3) Select the cartridge:
After crafting the cartridge, you need to select it by hovering over the bottom center icon on your weapon wheel. Press the button to edit the slot, which is the left-click button on the mouse, and the right triggers on the controller.
4) Equip the cartridge
Hover over the cartridge you want to equip and then let go of the button to screw it into your weapon. Once you’ve screwed in the cartridge, you’ll have elemental attacks until the cartridge runs out of fuel.
Cartridges are an effective tool when dealing with enemies with elemental weaknesses, as they deal considerable damage over time. They’re also useful in boss battles since you can apply an elemental effect that deals continuous damage while you focus on dodging attacks. Remember to keep an eye on the fuel level of your cartridge so that you can replace it before it runs out. On this note, we hope that you will have a great time grinding in Atomic Heart.
