Trouble with Battlefield 2042’s Yaw & Pitch keybinds? You are not the only one. Several reports on EA Answers HQ suggest the same. Read this article to know more about the issue.
Battlefield 2042’s open beta phase can be declared as a hit. Numerous shooter video game fans worldwide found themselves trying out the game before its official release. Battlefield’s public open beta started on October 8 and continued till 8 am BST on Sunday, October 10. There was a pre-load phase and an early-access phase as well. Peeps who got lucky and pre-ordered the video game way before the pre-load phase had access to Battlefield 2042 for a longer time. Beta phases are supposed to be short. They are only entertained to know all the deficiencies before releasing a video game officially. A buggy official release would obviously drive the player base away. Battlefield 2042’s open beta saw a lot of bug reports, as was expected.
Battlefield (BF) 2042 Yaw & Pitch keybinds not working properly
The developers didn’t deploy any major fixes during the beta phase. However, they fixed a few bugs that were interfering with starting and playing the game. However, most of the reported bugs remained as it is and players had to take the help of unofficial workarounds to fix them. But, the Yaw and Pitch keybinds issue remained unsolved during the beta phase. Here’s how a victim of the bug described the issue on the official forum:
Go to Settings Menu > Key Bindings > Pilot. I tried to change the camera view from F to Mouse 5. Went back in game and now the free look camera is NOT mouse. Pitch and Yaw are not working now, nor was moving forward or backwards in a chopper. It will only free look now, and not move the air vehicle. You also cannot change the settings back, nor can you “Restore Defaults” on that page.
So, basically, if you love to play as a Pilot in Battlefield 2042 and try to change the default keybinding to something you are comfortable in, the bug will not let you do so. The changes you make will not be updated. Moreover, other controls in the helicopter/chopper would also stop working. Players have reported that Yaw and Pitch controls become completely useless along with other navigation controls. During the beta phase, hundreds of reports were suggesting issues with keybindings and controls in Battlefield 2042. None of them were acknowledged or addressed by DICE officially. Battlefield 2042’s official release is scheduled for November 19, more than a month from now. We certainly hope that the developers will address the bugs related to Pilot and Yaw & Pitch keybinds by that time.
