Developed by Astrolabe Interactive Inc. and published by Funcom, Aloft is the new sandbox co-op survival game that has gained a significant following since its release. Currently, the game averages around 2.5K+ concurrent players, and for a new game, that’s quite a feat. This is mainly due to the game’s aesthetics. Aloft features a vast in-game world, and to traverse it, you can convert any island into a flying ship. Your objective in the game is to explore vast lands, gather resources, craft bases, tend to your animals, and fight the fungal corruption that plagues the world. Anyway, since the game is available as a PC exclusive, handheld players will be looking to try it out. And, if you happen to own a Steam Deck, you’re in luck, as Aloft is compatible with this handheld (although not officially verified). However, the in-game FPS in Aloft while running on the Deck isn’t something to write home about. So, to help you get a smoother experience, we have included the best settings that you need to apply in Aloft to get high FPS and performance out of your Deck. Therefore, consider reading this guide until the end for more details.
The Steam Deck is a good handheld, but definitely not the best. What sets it apart from the rest is its reliance on Steam OS, a highly optimized OS based on Linux. Due to this, it can run many PC games, even though its hardware is only sub-par. Likewise, Aloft does run on the Steam Deck, but the in-game FPS barely touches the 30 FPS mark in most of the in-game areas. So, to boost the FPS and get a more immersive feel, you will have to manually adjust the in-game settings. If you don’t know which settings to change, we are here to help.

Best Aloft Steam Deck Settings for High FPS & Performance
Changing the graphics settings in Aloft is a pretty simple task. All you need to do is launch the game on your Deck, and then select the Options button. Here, go to the Graphics tab and apply the following changes:
Graphics
- Graphics Preset: Custom
- Texture: Low/Medium
- Volumetric Fog: Low
- Anti-Aliasing: Very Low
- Shadows: Low
- Reflections: Off
- Render Distance: Medium
- Particle effects: Low
- Cloud Shadow: Off
- Cloud Render Distance: Low
- Clouds Resolution: Low
- Clouds Quality: Low
Video
After applying the above-mentioned changes, head over to the Video tab.
- Resolution: 1280×800
- Window Mode: Fullscreen
- V-Sync: Off
- Limit FPS: Off
- Dynamic Resolution: Default
With these settings applied, the in-game FPS should be close to 40 or above. But don’t think that it will be stable. In certain areas, the FPS will drop. If you don’t want to experience such FPS drops frequently, you can consider setting the Limit FPS option to 30. Doing so will make sure that the game runs at a constant 30 FPS, with occasional dips.
That said, now you know all about the best settings that you can apply to get high FPS and performance out of your Steam Deck while running Aloft on it. We hope that you find this guide informative. If you did, consider visiting Android Gram for more such interesting reads on all things gaming.
