Brawl Stars is the hit mobile game from the developers of Clash of Clans, Supercell. It is essentially a 3v3 multiplayer and battle royale game, with the team that is last left standing winning the game. It has a similar art style to Clash of Clans, and this makes it a very fun game to play with friends or alone. Unfortunately, the game’s popularity and huge player base with not-so-robust servers often result in a few issues for players to encounter. Are you facing issues with the game not starting or crashing when you launch it after the new update? If yes, this article is for you.
The issue mainly occurs when the game’s client is unable to connect with the servers. It is important to note that since this can be an issue on your end, the workarounds for it will only tackle the issue on your end and not the server itself. To fix the server-related issues, the developers will have to step in.
Brawl Stars Crashing on Startup Issue: Is there any fix yet?
While there is no official fix yet, the developers have acknowledged the crashing issues on iOS devices and stated that they are working on a fix for now. They also shared some workarounds. While the issue isn’t reported to affect Android devices at the moment, you can try the workarounds if you are struggling with it.
1). Check the internet connection.
Make sure you are connected to a stable and strong network. If the network connection is not stable or slow, consider switching to a different one or using mobile data while launching the game.
2). Check server status.
When encountering this issue, check the status of the game’s servers. If the servers are down, you cannot do much but wait for them to come back online. If they are not down, the problem could be on your end. You can check for server status updates on the game’s official Twitter (X) handle.
3). Update to the latest version.
This applies to both the game and your device. If you have a pending software update for either, we recommend you do it at the earliest. This will make it possible for the game to run on the most stable build and reduce overall communication issues with the server (if any). It will also allow your device to operate more efficiently and prevent the game from crashing.
4). Disrupt the loading process.
This is a trick that is known to solve this issue. All you really need to do is force your phone to use and access any other feature it has installed. This can be software or hardware. It can be as simple as rotating your phone from landscape to portrait mode, sliding down the notification center on your phone or even taking a screenshot. This will force the game to load. While it is not known why, this might work, as the developers themselves suggested.
⚠️ Hey all, this is really important to iPhone/iPad users only: ⚠️
– There's a crash and while we work on a fix for that, here's the workaround for you:
– Rotate your device during the Loading Screen (I know, it somehow works)
– OR take a screenshot of the game during the… pic.twitter.com/v9PSCSaXW7

5). Clear Cache.
You will have to navigate to the settings of your Android device for this step. Here, go to apps or app settings to find Brawl Stars. Now, click on the Storage tab. Here, you will find an option to clear the cached data. This will remove all cache data that might be causing the game to crash. This is a common method to solve file corruption and fix loading issues. It should work in this case as well. To clear cache on your iOS device, you can try following these steps:
- Go to the Settings menu.
- Select General, and then tap on iPhone Storage.
- Locate the Brawl Stars app and tap on it.
- Look for the Offload App option and select it.
- Confirm your selection.
- Following these steps will clear the cache for the Brawl Stars app.
6). Restart the phone.
Restarting your phone can help solve many of the software conflicts that might have prevented the app from launching. Since this also closes all previously opened apps, it clears up your RAM. Once you restart your device, launch the game and check whether the issue persists.
If none of the above methods work, your best bet is to reinstall the app. It is possible that the installed version of Brawl Stars itself has been corrupted, and a clean reinstall will solve this issue and make it possible for the app to launch and run as intended.
8). Contact Support.
If even the reinstalling option does not work for you, contacting the official developer team is your best bet. The developers of the game will be able to find you a solution that takes into consideration your specific issues.
