Call of Duty is one of the best-known FPS games on the market currently. With the craze of the Battle Royale genre taking off a few years ago, the popular franchise was brought to the BR ecosystem. Warzone is Call of Duty’s native Battle Royale, with various features and abilities that are unique to it. It is a hardcore FPS game with exciting gunplay and movement mechanics. The most recent versions of this free-to-play game come with an attached CoD game. While you have to pay for the standalone title, the BR is completely free.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is a regularly updated and live-service battle royale. It comes bundled with COD MW2, with weapons and skins transferring across the games. While it remains free to play, there are multiple additions and in-game purchases you can make. The most recent seasonal update (Season 5) for COD MW2 and Warzone 2 added Tactical Pets to the game. COD Warzone 2 and MW2: How to Use Tactical Pets?
Tactical Pets are companions you can carry with you onto the battlefield in these games. Both Warzone 2 and MW2 share this feature for their multiplayer game modes. The Tactical pets are even included in the DMZ mode. So, if you are playing a multiplayer game mode, either in Warzone or in MW2, you have the option to bring your pets along. These pets are passive companions for the most part, but they have a few uses and animations when in play. To equip these pets and take them into battle,
- Head to the Customise Operator tab, and select the Operator of your choice.
- After this, customize the Finishing move option. Once you are on this screen, equip the Bark and Bite finisher.
- This will allow your operator to get into the battle with their furry companion.
While this feature has only just been added to the game, players are already excited about it. The developers have been tight-lipped about the possibility of including other animals in the future, but currently, we are limited to dogs only.
What do they do?
Unfortunately, not much. They essentially serve as a visual appeal. Currently, they are nothing more than finishing companions that will do the finishing move. The developers have made sure that they cannot be harmed in any way by other players. They are completely passive as companions if not used for a finisher. If you are in a tight spot, they will not come to your rescue like you would have hoped. They are, however, very cool to look at and make pretty good companions.
If you are someone who appreciates practical additions to the game, this, sadly, will not be your cup of tea. The developers have also not shared any information about additional abilities or features they may introduce in the future for these companions. We genuinely hope that they put some more thought and time into this and actually make the pets, well, tactical.
