Cyberpunk 2077 recently received a massive expansion called Phantom Liberty. It also received the new Patch 2.0, which introduced new content along with bug fixes. One of the main highlights is the Cellular Adapter. This one piece of cyberware alone can make you feel like a raid boss. That’s because it gives a massive 200 bonus armor boost. Getting excited? That’s not all! Do you know that you can also customize V according to your choice? Although you may already know that it is possible, in this article, you will learn how to customize your character’s appearance after the new Patch 2.0 update went live and find out more about what this new patch has brought to the table.
Character customization has always been a big selling point for this game. Some games forbid you from entering the character customization screen after you have started playing the game. In some games, character customization costs money (in-game) while others have a gacha system implemented. So does Cyberpunk 2077 also have the same shady system as them? Or is it something different? Let’s find out.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2.0): How to Change Character Appearance
The latest update for Cyberpunk 2077 features the one and only V, a deadly cyber-enhanced mercenary who likes to take big risks. You will have plenty of customization options right from the start of your in-game journey; you can make the character look cute or deadly, whichever suits you the best. But maybe now, after you have progressed in the storyline, you have noticed that some minor details are missing that just feel inappropriate. In that case, modifying the character’s appearance is what you’ll think of, right? Well, let’s see how to do exactly that.
Go to V’s apartment
Fortunately, there is no paywall or gacha system in place for the character customization menu. So you can just head to V’s apartment and start customizing his/her appearance once again. You can do all this by entering the bathroom and then interacting with the mirror. You can change pretty much everything but the gender of your character. Yeah, that sounds annoying, but if your main goal was to change gender, this is a big disappointment. So, you must make sure to select the gender of your choice during the initial character customization menu, since it cannot be changed later on. There are three other aspects of your character that you can’t change. They are listed below:
- Body type
- Voice
- Tattoos (for console only)
But apart from that, from eye color to skin tone, anything can be customized. It’ll look like the same character creation screen that you saw the first time. And the good part is that there is no limitation on how many times you can customize your character.
Get to the Ripperdoc
You can also customize your character with the help of a Ripperdoc. There are many Ripperdocs scattered around the Night City. Surprisingly, besides upgrading your cyberdeck, you can also customize your character with their help. The options are somewhat similar, but they won’t be as similar as the character creation screen. While PCs have relatively fewer restrictions, the same can’t be said about consoles. Anyway, just get to your apartment or the Ripperdoc, whichever is closer. We recommend going to the Ripperdoc since you can also access and modify your character’s cyberdeck and appearance.
This was our guide on how to customize or change character appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 (2.0). Apart from basic appearance, you can also buy clothes that will give V a funky or romantic look. All of it depends on your imagination and choice. That said, if you find this guide informative, make sure to follow Android Gram for more.
