There’s a new Deep Rock Galactic game here, and it’s great. Titled Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, it’s a single-player auto-shooter where you will have to go against a horde of bugs while upgrading your gear and mining for resources. Fans are already having a fun time with the game, but since it’s such a fresh release, many have a ton of questions related to it. This article will answer some of them.
Some of the major questions about Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor are regarding support for features like modding, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, and upscaling technologies such as AMD FSR 3 and DLSS. A lot of players prefer to have these features in a game right from Day 1 of launch, and that goes with the ones enjoying Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor right now. So, without much further ado, let’s go ahead and find out whether the game supports all these features or not.
Deep Rock Galactic Survivor Mod, HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
Players should be happy to know that Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor does support both ultrawide and super ultrawide aspect ratios. A lot of players were particularly curious about this before the launch, and Stidsholt, a developer on the DRG: Survivor team, then clarified on a Steam Discussion post that the game will support resolution up to 5120×1440 right from the get-go. And that’s true, as evidenced by player reports in the same post.
As for mod support, unfortunately, that isn’t available currently. In the FAQ post shared by the developers, there’s a dedicated question regarding mod support. And the following is what the developers stated in regard to that question:
“We know it is a feature everyone wants and we are continuously discussing how to make it happen. But until the game has settled a bit, it will probably not happen.”
So for now, players will have to wait a bit before the developers add in mod support for the game. Now, just like the modding feature, there’s also no support available for HDR at the moment. This is also the case with AMD FSR 3 and DLSS support. While there is a render scale slider in the game, there’s no upscaling technology like FSR and DLSS. Last year, in 2023, a player did ask the developers if there were any plans to implement upscaling technologies like FSR and DLSS. And at the time, one developer simply replied: “No specific plans, no. But totally open to it.”
The game seems to run just fine without these upscale technologies, so you can enjoy it as it is right now. If the developers do add in any of the unavailable features later on, we will be sure to let you know.
And that’s all the information we have on this right now. Additionally, you can also take a quick look here if you want to know more about how to reset progress in the game. Lastly, for more such content, keep following Android Gram. Also read: Deep Rock Galactic Survivor: How to open Supply pods?
