Have you tried Goat Simulator? It’s a game that lets you play as a goat and create havoc in the city. If you got bored of it, there’s a new player in town, and that’s Duckside. It is a more detailed game than Goat Simulator and is quite fun. In the game, you play as a duck, and your goal is to survive by harvesting resources, gathering weapons, and defending your base from others. Yes, Duckside is indeed a post-apocalyptic survival game, similar to the likes of DayZ and Rust. If this sounds interesting, you must want to play it, right? But wait, do you have a handheld PC? If that’s the case, consider reading until the end to find out whether Duckside is supported by the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go.
2024 is the handheld year. From being very niche to being included in the mainstream, handheld gaming has come a long way. All that has been possible because of Valve’s contribution, as they released the Steam Deck in 2022. It is one of the best handheld gaming systems with good support for games, and following its success, devices like the Asus Rog Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go were released, and they too became very popular. So, now, whenever a new game is announced or released, players always wonder whether these handhelds will support it. Well, players interested in Duckside are wondering the same.

As of now, Duckside doesn’t have an official release date, but you can join in on the fun by applying for the playtest that is currently scheduled to go live on April 18th. The game under development and to be published by popular studio, TinyBuild, has many players eager to enjoy the experience. So, what about its compatibility with the Steam Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go? More details are shared below:
Steam Deck
When asked about support for Steam Deck by a player on the game’s Steam Discussion forum, one of the game developers stated the following:
Hey there,
For the time being we’re focused on Windows PC, however we’re hoping to make the game as accessible and available for as many people as possible further down the line, so we’re not going to rule anything out!
James
So, it is pretty clear that Duckside won’t be released as a Deck-Verified game, at least not at the time of launch. But as the developer said, they are looking to make the game quite accessible to the masses and aren’t going to rule anything out. This gives us hope that the game might be at least playable on the Deck. Considering the fact that previous games from tinyBuild are also marked as Playable on the Deck, the possibility of Duckside following suit is quite high. But we can never know for sure until the developers announce something related to the same. So, consider taking this information with a pinch of salt.
Asus Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go
Well, both the Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go run on the Windows OS, and since the game is specifically developed for Windows PCs, we don’t think that these handhelds will have any problem running Duckside. The fact that the system requirements of the game aren’t atrocious, this implies that it will be quite manageable by these handhelds. For now, we can only wait for the game to be released.
