Is Dying Light 2 crashing on your PC? Well, it’s a common issue for PC users trying to get their hands on Dying Light 2 for the first time! The much-anticipated action RPG is all set to officially release on February 4, 2022, and that is today. A lot of fans were able to get their hands on the retail copy a couple of days early – Pokemon Legends Arceus also had to deal with the same kind of “leaky” situation. However, the developers had requested fans to hold their anticipation and play the game after the official release. As it happens, they were planning to deploy a major patch upon official release which is supposed to fix a long list of bugs and glitches. The crash issue is reportedly exclusive to the PC platform. Users on other platforms – PS, Xbox – have not reported significant crash issues.
Dying Light 2 crashing at startup for some PC build
A crash issue is common during video game releases. However, most of such issues are soon fixed with patches by developers. The same is yet to happen for Dying Light 2. Several reports on the Steam Community suggest that some PC builds are unable to handle the game’s startup. As soon as users launch the game, it either crashes immediately or upon reaching the second screen or main menu screen. Some players have also reported infinite loading screens. But, the developers were quick to suggest a workaround to this issue. They also added that they are looking into the situation and will fix this bug as soon as possible. However, they also want Dying Light 2’s community to submit the crash reports that will help them figure out the actual cause. Up next, we will share with you the official workaround. And if it doesn’t work out, we will also include the process of sending dump files to the developers. Stay tuned!
How to fix Dying Light crashing on startup or launch?
As suggested by developers, you will need to tweak some properties. To do so, right-click on the Dying Light 2 icon (executable) on your Desktop/Drive and select Properties. Now, in the Launch options, type “/nolightfx“, and select Add. Save everything and close the Properties window. Now, try and launch Dying Light 2. The game should not crash anymore!

Unfortunately, a lot of fans are still affected even after trying the above workaround. If you are still unable to launch Dying Light 2, gather the game’s dump files and send them to the officials for further investigation. To do so, take a look at the following address:

You will find the game’s dump files (otherwise known as crash reports) here. To send the crash reports to the Techland team, follow this official guide.
