Open-world survival games have been in trend since way back, and this genre continues to grow stronger with new titles releasing every now and then. From Minecraft to the recently released game, Enshrouded, there are tons of survival games for players to spend their time on, and this craze is only getting wilder. While some games are entirely multiplayer-focused action-survival that is fast-paced with intense battles against real players, there are some, where players get to choose whether they want to dive into a single-player solo world or one with multiplayer elements. Likewise, Enshrouded provides players with the ability to choose the type of world they want to access. However, there are plenty of features missing from the game, with the pause button in a single-player world being one of the most in-demand.
If you are building your base in a single-player world, it is quite obvious that you get to choose when your world pauses and when it breathes back into life. Unlike multiplayer, where allowing individual players to pause the world isn’t feasible, the single-player experience is quite different. Most games do feature a pause button that instantly stops the in-game life, but that’s not what Enshrouded players are offered. So, this has sparked numerous discussions in the Steam forums regarding why a pause button is not available in the single-player world of the game.
Enshrouded missing pause feature in single player requested by players
Going AFK is something every gamer hates. But, considering external factors, this is nowhere near possible. For one thing or another, you may have gone afk in an open-world survival game for a couple of minutes, only to return to your base and find out that everything you had has vanished into thin air. Well, this is what happens in a multiplayer world where many players play together. Now, in a single-player world, there is no PvP element or player interference; it’s only the game’s AI. This is why many are disappointed that Enshrouded’s single-player world doesn’t feature a pause button.
A true disappointment
When asked by Steam user Kay on the game’s Steam discussion forum about whether the game comes with a pause button, one of the forum moderators replied the following:
No there is no pause in the game at this time
Other players joined in to express their disappointment, stating that the pause button should be a mandatory feature in a single-player world. However, things are most likely going to change.
Any rays of hope?
Well, although at this moment there is no pause button featured in Enshrouded, we are confident that it might be added to the game pretty soon. Well, one of the game developers responded to this demand and stated the following:
Thanks for the feedback 🙂 I will forward this to the team since it seems pretty important to a fair number of you.
Back when Valheim was released, its single-player world was also devoid of a pause button, but it was added eventually. Similarly, it is possible that the same will happen to Enshrouded, considering that the game is in its early access period, so the developers will be listening to player feedback. And, since this demand has been acknowledged and forwarded to the official team, it will not take long for the feature to arrive in the game. And, if it doesn’t, there’s always the option of using mods to get the necessary features in a game, way ahead of any official integration.
Note: To make sure that the game gets the feature as soon as possible, consider upvoting it on the game’s official Feature Upvote page. You can click here for the same.
That being said, if you are interested in knowing whether the upcoming game, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, will have multiplayer mode support, consider clicking here.
